Almost half a year ago, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on vocational education and training (VET) initiated by MEP Nadja Hirsch. Looking back at almost 10 years since the launch of the Copenhagen process for a better cooperation in VET, the resolution calls on the Member States to live up to their promises and implement measures to make VET fit for the future.

This event focuses on the experience of various stakeholders with the European tools, which aim to facilitate comparability and recognition of learning results in VET across Europe and to improve the overall quality of VET systems, including the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), ECVET, the quality assurance approach and Europass.

The November conference will address the challenge of implementing the European tools and principles and in particular discuss the role and responsibilities of social partners in this endeavour. The conference takes as its starting point that the European tools and principles address individual as well as policy level needs and that they operate in-between the education and training system and the labour market.
